Terms of Service

1. The Service

MailKit API provides an email address verification API. The Service checks email format, DNS records, MX records, disposable domain status, and other signals to assess deliverability. Results are provided on a best-effort basis and do not guarantee deliverability.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys. Do not share API keys publicly or embed them in client-side code. Notify us immediately at support@mailkitapi.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to send unsolicited email or spam
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or plan restrictions
• Resell or redistribute raw API access without written permission
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Submit email addresses belonging to individuals without a lawful basis
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service

4. Plans and Billing

The Free plan provides 1,000 verifications per month at no cost. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. Unused requests do not roll over. You may upgrade or cancel at any time from your dashboard. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you have a billing issue.

5. Rate Limits

Each plan includes a monthly request limit. Exceeding your limit returns a 429 response. The Service also enforces a per-IP rate limit of 30 requests per minute regardless of plan. Limits reset at the start of each calendar month.

6. Availability and Warranty

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Verification results reflect conditions at the time of the request and may not reflect future deliverability.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailKit API shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including losses from inaccurate verification results.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in fraudulent activity, without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify active users of material changes by email.
